ASTROLOGY FOR NEW MOON

ARIES

On the 17^th April 2026

A new Moon in Aries today and it has so many planets contained within that one sign that it is like a gathering of great beings under the Sun of Aries and the Moon.    It is a potent day and you may feel that especially when you look at what planets you have in your own Chart that relate to Mars (the ruler of Aries).    The Sun conjunct Mercury, Venus, and Mars contains a cocktail designed to address what we see as our world.    Both internally and our day to day life.    The first sign of the zodiac, Aries,  is the I am of the astrological wheel.   We are looking at our identity and with Saturn and Neptune also part of this cosmic lineup we may be delving into our identity with what we envision both as the foundations of our life and our hopes and dreams.   We must not fall for the illusions be they fear or grandiose ideas.    But we can allow ourselves to feel the depth of this Sun today and the Moon.   We must acknowledge how far we have come through our evolution but we also must surrender to not knowing everything we need to know as it will unfold in the coming days, weeks and months ahead.     We are being led by faith and it is a destiny based origin not religious.

Chiron (the so called wounded healer) is also part of this line up and it is tearing off the band aid of what we held together as our identity.    What we thought we could get through with and juggle so as to hold on to the old patterns we have so desperately tried to rid ourselves of.    They bring comfort of course as in knowing the old ways of doing things, but for now we are being asked to trust a process that is ancient and eternal.   The stars do not lie!   They do not predict the future they give conditions favourable to create!   They give a road map of your birth and the road ahead.    We must learn to use those gifts more and to trust that we have so many signs on our own journey but refuse to believe them unless we can prove them!   

The Moon is also squaring Jupiter in Cancer under this Moon so it will expand what we have been trying to resolve within family but also within the confines of what we think family is.   The Earth is minute in the grand scheme of things but it holds a lot of soul family and those we are yet to meet.   The New Moon always heralds a new cycle but this one has a different feel.   A very different feel to what we have been used to.    It is an ancient Moon in the sign of Aries that is the start of the new cycle of creation.     What does it mean for your own Sun sign?

ARIES

This is a heady time for you Aries.   In a lovely way but also in an intense way!   You have found yourself searching and looking for answers for the way forward and yet now you realise you have to look at the way you show up in the world.    Are you showing off your assets?   Can you let others see what you are really made of and not hide behind the façade that was a safe place to retreat to?  Well you know it is your curtain call Aries, and, yes, the wounds of old are being felt but something is spurring you on and maybe just maybe it is a message you left yourself a long time ago to step forward into this new age as the real deal.   Nothing stops you now.   Only yourself…Let the message be clear.    You are safe to move forward.   Just do it authentically and from the lovely heart you are.

TAURUS

The Sun is shining brightly on you today Taurus.    There is a lightness in your step as you make your way out into the day ahead.    You have come to terms with a part of yourself that did not sit well.   It may be the guilt or fears you kept close to your chest in the past that has come out to be revealed as just a way of keeping you in a cycle of hurt.    You are embodying the part of yourself that is innocence.   The part of you that is still there before the hurts and the challenges.    Venus your ruling planet is where it belongs in your Sun sign.    The Sun in Aries and the Moon also in Aries today is firing you up with enthusiasm.    Yes you can do this.   Uranus is also joining Venus in your sign.      Yes you are worthy of being the person you want to be.    You are not to succumb to imposter syndrome!    Trust what your heart calls you to is the very thing that will make it sing!    Balance is key.    The reuniting of the inner and outer world within you in a balanced way and not being  needy is vital to achieve a balance that will enable you enjoy these changes you need to happen.      Trust your beautiful heart that is lighting the way. 

GEMINI

Your ruler, Mercury, is part of this line up with the Aries Moon today.    A fire is lit in your thoughts and how you communicate Gemini.    Make sure it is not reactionary rather that it is ignited by your passion to share what you know or to formulate the ideas you are having.    There is a conjunction between Mercury and Neptune and Saturn also.    Your commitment to the foundations you are building is being looked at.    You need to make a commitment to where you want to build those foundations in your life.   In what area do you want to begin again!    It will show itself now and after this new moon in Aries and the planetary line up.    Acceptance of self is vital also as the Sun is in the first house of the astrological wheel and that is the face of who we are and how we show up in the world.    A lot may have changed in the past six months Gemini and you have recognised something in yourself that is a pattern that shows up just as you move forward.    Do you talk yourself out of making a move!    Trust the timing of when you feel to make that move but be aware of self talk and keep it positive!

CANCER

Jupiter will soon be leaving your sign Cancer and it has helped you on the way.   It has opened you up to a more joyful way of seeing who you are and your immediate friends and family.   What they mean to you and you to them.    You are finding out how you actually matter!    The Moon in Aries today is lending itself for you to gather information about how and why you choose to do things in a certain way.    The Moon is also squaring Pluto in Aquarius and you may be having a rebirth moment after letting go of a lot of old patterns in the past few weeks.   You may have cleared out physical objects also and decided to clear the decks before you begin again.    The time is now Cancer and you cannot play coy anymore.   Your nurturing is needed and you know it.

LEO

The Sun in Aries has you feeling expansive Leo.    Your ruling planet is the Sun!   It is joined by the Moon, Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Neptune and Chiron!    There is a lot of uncovering of things around you Leo.    The foundations of what you are building in your life together with the old ways of doing things.   You want to build something for life.   You do not necessarily want to do it in the way it has been done in history.    You are deciding to do it from a place of self discovery.   You want to do it from the heart and what you love.    The day to day routine you have may still need to be looked at also and you want to make it more light hearted and structured through what you love doing.      You need to have a sense of joy Leo.   It is who you are and you want to bring that into every part of your world.   Now is the time to do it!

VIRGO

LIBRA

You feel this new Moon Libra, like most of us, but your ruling planet in the sign of Taurus is grounding something in you that feels right.    Libra represents relationships and Aries is about the self!   So the opposite of what your sign represents Libra but very much what you need to look at now.    What is it that makes you tick and makes you feel whole and complete on your own!    Not whether in a relationship or alone.   But rather what is it in you that makes you feel comfortable and at peace as you sit alone with your own thoughts.    What nudges you into action?  And what have you carried as blame or shame that you now need to let go of and accept that there is a beautiful forgiving heart within yourself that you need to allow be accepted by you!   All of this and more originates at this time and under this Moon in Aries Libra.   You love love but lets start with self love and celebrate YOU.

SCORPIO

The Goddess Lilith resides in your house in astrology at the moment Sagittarius and you may have been looking at a lot of the shadow side of your divine feminine, whether you man or woman.    What do you give too much of?   What do you not give enough of?    Etc.    You may be rationalising how you show up in the world to.    As in you may think you have done enough to coast a little now and just let others take the helm.    That may be the case but you are also addressing deeply held fears and worries when it comes to your own inner world and how you communicate.   How you honestly communicate with family etc also as Jupiter your ruler is still in Cancer for a short while.   It was a walk through your family history and the rule book may have been torn up!      But the global family may be something you are looking at and your place in the world Sagittarius.    You have had a long dark walk through the shadow of the Feminine and you are coming out with more knowledge and more wisdom.    Bring it where it needs to be but first of all sit with it and remember your story as being one that is divine.

CAPRICORN

Your opposite sign Cancer still has Jupiter for a few days Capricorn and you have had a journey with family and the past.   You have had redefining moments of acceptance of people especially and acceptance of their humanness!    You have seen how maybe just maybe they have good intentions but not necessarily easy to be around!    This is your wisdom coming in to play and you have Jupiter the planet of joy in the sign of Cancer to thank for that.    Your own ruler Saturn is centre stage with Neptune and others under this New Moon in Aries.    There is a traffic jam of planets all in Aries lol.    A stellium.    You feel it and boy is it making you surrender!     After all self acceptance is the final frontier we all face before the next step on this path.    You are ready Capricorn.   You know you are but you are taking your time – and that is the right thing to do.    Yes the ignition key of Mars in Aries has happened over the last week and you know you are ready but – well – you will do it when whatever it is you are to do calls you.   Not a moment before as you know it is not determined by an earthly timing but a divinely timed one!    You have finally found it in your heart to realise the key all along was there.    If it feels right do it and if it doesn’t – leave it gently to one side without regret!

AQUARIUS

Buns of steel Aquarius – lol.    What do you say?   What does that even mean.    Well it means you have Pluto the planet of death/birth and transformation holding court in your sign for the next twenty years and now you have the stellium of planets including your own older ruler Saturn in Aries under the new Moon.    Its like you say it never rains but it pours.   But hang on Aquarius.   Its raining an elixir of light that is washing you with a whole new understanding of who you are and why you are even contemplating everything!!!!    Uranus your modern ruler is in Taurus so its all being grounded down into this reality.    Whatever you are shifting towards let it be the light filled expression of what your heart calls you to.   Do not settle for how to or where do I even start.    Just let the rhythm of this time beat a drum that you listen for with your intuition.    It is all about the feelings Aquarius.    Your identity is radically changing and you know it and its been happening for a while but you wondered – where the hell do I fit in now?    Well you don’t that’s the whole point.    You are not meant to fit in you are meant to show the way!    You are one of the way showers and what do you show you may ask.   YOU.   Presence is everything and its ok to be seen not in an egotistic way but just be you!     Just do what you love and do what is felt by your heart and let the way be shown to you by the next big love showing up.   The next thing to do is the thing that calls you to love it – be it a person, place or thing.     Acceptance is key under this new Moon and you have finally decided to give in and just accept yourself!    After all this time and so many revivals you see the only way is to be the unfiltered you.    Gosh it kind of makes you a little nervous Aquarius but in a delightful butterflies way!   Let the angst be gone.   The decisions be left to be felt when they need to and just hold the age of Aquarius as YOU.

PISCES

Oh My the fire within is burning Pisces.   You so want to douse it with the ocean of Neptune and stand back and watch the steam.    But you know you cannot avoid the days or weeks ahead when you walk out into the sunshine and let the light show itself.    You cannot hide beneath your mask of emotions any more Pisces.     The map to the path ahead needs to be thrown out and a new one sketched up and put a few coffee shops in there too.    Sit and allow yourself the pleasure of making notes and doing a few odd sketches.    Let your life be light and frothy like a cappuccino as you leave behind the cares of the world for a while Pisces.    All this means do not carry with you what you can no longer hold the burden of.    What old bags and packages have you learned to carry that no longer serves you?    Most of them may be your old patterns and programmes that you thought were the way of the world.    But they may not be of this new world we enter and you held so much promise in the age of Pisces.    Now the Age of Aquarius dawns and you need to bring all of that deeply held spiritual promise out into the sunshine and it can shine!   Just like YOU.
