Jupiter Square Saturn – A TIME TO GROW

A time to grow.

Squares in astrology can be thought to be a negative or harsh aspect but they also give great opportunities to look at things differently and go beyond what we are presented with. Saturn (authority/divine timing and building new foundations and the shadow of this aspect may be feeling restricted or even inertia. The peak of this aspect comes on the 19th June and another on the 25th December.

Jupiter square Saturn happens in Gemini at this point and this gives us an opportunity to work on links to communication especially with others but also ourselves. Bringing out something into communities that you want to share or starting business or even laying the foundations of a new beginning for what you hope to build as your future. All is possible but remember Saturn is like the marker we have for integrity in our work and building something that is authentic and not just for the sake of doing anything. It requires squaring up to our old patterns perhaps and rather than say oh this is too uncomfortable we take our time walking through those old emotions and see the bigger picture of where we want to bring our new world.

Saturn is the grown up part of us. The first Saturn return in our Chart happens around 28 – 29 years of age and it’s exactly the right timing! It’s when we are no longer the child or young adult we start to put down roots or want to. It’s a time in our lives when we are adult enough to hold guilt for the choices we make!! It is a new journey up the mountain and we gather all experiences along the way. Up to that point we can pass the buck to parents or elders and their influence for why we do or don’t do things!

The next Saturn return happens at another 28 years after the first. Usually when we are 56 to 58. It is when we look back at our lives and review so many choices we have made. This is in perfect alignment for when our own children perhaps may be flying the nest. It is a divinely timed change. It brings up guilt perhaps or feelings of ‘if only’. But it is there for us to reach the point where we can have hindsight and a deeper knowing of our life. We enter the age of wisdom. We unravel the threads we bound ourselves in. Saturn is a beautiful planet yet it has complete transparency with who you are. An elder of the cosmos who sees you. There is no hiding place from who you are and this is why we reach an age as we mature when we want to really understand the nature of who we are and why we are here.

I see squares in astrology as windows. They look on to the image of where we find ourselves and depending on what planets form that square it gives us an opportunity to grow beyond what we had thought. It is a window into a new world but old patterns do not make a new world and this is why it takes a leap of faith over the coming months with this Square to Saturn and it’s journey. It is the grown up soul and you are coming of age and taking responsibility for the next part of your journey.
